Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

Thank you for choosing Soulful Harp. I want you to feel confident when booking my services or purchasing from my website.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for harp performances, weddings and events, lessons, and digital recordings purchased through soulfulharp.co.uk.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law.

1. Harp Performances, Weddings & Events

When you book Soulful Harp for a wedding, celebration, event or other performance, your booking is reserved specifically for you and your date.

Wedding bookings

A £100 deposit is required to secure and reserve your wedding date.

The £100 deposit is non-refundable if you subsequently cancel your wedding booking, subject to your statutory rights.

The remaining balance will be fully refundable if you cancel your wedding booking at least 3 months (90 days) before the date of your wedding.

If you cancel less than 3 months (90 days) before your wedding date, the remaining balance will normally be non-refundable.

In summary:

  • Cancellation 3 months (90 days) or more before the wedding: £100 deposit retained; remaining balance refunded.

  • Cancellation less than 3 months (90 days) before the wedding: £100 deposit and remaining balance are normally non-refundable.

If you need to cancel your wedding booking, please contact me as soon as possible at:

emmayatesharpist@gmail.com

In exceptional circumstances, I may consider an alternative arrangement or refund at my discretion.

The £100 deposit and cancellation terms will be clearly communicated to you before you confirm your booking.

Other performances and events

For non-wedding performances and events, cancellation and refund arrangements will be agreed with you at the time of booking and confirmed in your booking terms.

Where a cancellation occurs, any amount retained will be reasonable and proportionate to the costs, losses or commitments arising from the cancellation, where permitted by law.

If I need to cancel

If I have to cancel your booking and cannot provide the agreed service, I will, where possible, arrange a suitable replacement performer for your event.

If a suitable replacement cannot be arranged, you will be entitled to a refund of payments made for the service I am unable to provide, subject to your statutory rights.

2. Harp Lessons

If you need to cancel or rearrange a harp lesson, please give as much notice as possible.

For lessons cancelled or rearranged with reasonable notice, I may offer an alternative date or, where appropriate, a refund.

If a lesson is cancelled at short notice or you do not attend, the lesson fee may be non-refundable because the time has been specifically reserved for you.

The exact cancellation arrangements may be confirmed when your lesson is booked.

If I need to cancel a lesson, I will offer an alternative date or a refund for the cancelled lesson, as appropriate.

3. Digital Recordings and Downloads

Digital recordings are supplied electronically and may be available for immediate download or access following purchase.

If you purchase digital content online, you may generally have a 14-day cancellation right under UK consumer law. However, this right can be lost once you begin downloading or accessing the digital content if you have expressly agreed to the content being supplied immediately and acknowledged that doing so means losing your cancellation right.

Before your digital recording is supplied immediately, I will provide any required information and obtain the appropriate acknowledgement or consent where necessary.

Once a digital recording has been supplied and you have started accessing or downloading it following that acknowledgement, I will generally not provide a refund simply because you have changed your mind.

This does not affect your statutory rights if the digital content is faulty, does not match its description, or otherwise fails to meet the requirements of applicable consumer law.

If you experience a problem accessing or downloading a recording, please contact me at emmayatesharpist@gmail.com and I will do my best to resolve the problem.

4. Faulty or Incorrect Digital Content

If a digital recording is technically faulty, corrupted, inaccessible, or materially different from its description, please contact me as soon as possible.

Depending on the circumstances, I may offer:

  • A replacement copy or corrected version;

  • A repair or other appropriate remedy; or

  • A refund or price reduction where required by law.

Your statutory rights in relation to digital content are not affected by this policy.

5. Refunds for Services That Do Not Meet Requirements

If a service does not conform to what was agreed, or is not provided with reasonable care and skill, you may have rights to ask me to put the service right or, where appropriate, receive a price reduction or refund under applicable consumer law.

I will always aim to resolve any issue fairly and reasonably.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or discuss a cancellation, please email:

Emma Yates
Email: emmayatesharpist@gmail.com

Please include:

  • Your name

  • The service or product you purchased

  • Your booking or order date

  • The reason for your request, where relevant

  • Any relevant booking or payment details

I will review your request and respond as soon as reasonably possible.

7. How Refunds Are Paid

Where a refund is agreed or required, I will normally refund the payment using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

Payments made through third-party providers such as Stripe or PayPal may be subject to the processing arrangements of those providers.

For payments made by BACS or other bank transfer, I may ask you to provide appropriate bank details so that the refund can be made.

8. Refund Timescales

Once a refund has been agreed or is legally due, I will process it without undue delay.

The time it takes for the money to appear in your account may depend on your bank or payment provider.

9. Statutory Rights

This policy does not limit or exclude any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

In particular, nothing in this policy is intended to exclude rights relating to faulty digital content, services that do not meet legal requirements, or any applicable statutory cancellation rights.

If any provision of this policy conflicts with a legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, that legal right will take precedence.
